ENCLOSURE NO. 7.

Extract from the Kwok Wa Po, Canton about 27.I.26.

Boarding House Employees will receive no passengers from the British Company Steamers.

Yesterday, a proclamation was issued by the Boarding House Employees Guild stating that, at present, the Guild, for the sake of protecting the fatered scheme for the Canton and Hong Kong Strike and extending the economic boycott against the English, held a meeting on the 16th day of October and it was decided that all passengers who came to Canton by British Company steamers will not be received, and that those who go abroad by British Company steamers will not be welcome. This is to show that we still have manners and by doing so we can extend the shipping trade of our country. Any bad member who is willing to spoil the scheme by receiving the passengers of the British Company steamers will be fined $50 at the executive office after enquiries have been made. The witness will receive half of the fine as

apreward. Any of our member who are forced to receive

such passengers by the power of the master of their boarding house can immediately report it to our Guild so that we can caution or fine the shop. This is to set an example to those who try to spoil out anti-British scheme. If non members try to spoil our scheme, our Guild will tryi its best to deal with them.

The Executive Committee.
